The whole school day everyone was asking me what happened. I didn't want to tell them my dad threw a beer bottle at me.
My mom wanted me home right after school today cause she wanted to talk to me. And Jack is supposed to be coming to L.A today.
"Hey Mom," I say walking into the kitchen.
"How was school?"
"Eh it was okay," I say getting a water out of the fridge.
"So what did you need to talk about?" I asked.
"Okay. Jack was supposed to come to L.A today but we have a change of plans."
"What do you mean?"
"Instead of Jack moving to L.A we are moving to Arizona. It would be better for work and it will be nice to be somewhere new," she said.
"No. Its not gonna be better. All of our friends and family will be gone. And it's fin-"
"That is the final decision. I'm sorry. But you will like it whenever we get there trust me."
I storm upstairs to my room and slam my door. I lay on to my bed as tears slowly fall down my cheeks.
Everything will be gone. All my friends and family. The memories.
Joey. I won't see him again.
"Catie?" Someone said walking in.
"What?" I say whipping my tears.
"What's wrong?"
I look up and it's Joey.
"Don't worry about it," I say getting up.
"Come on tell me," he said grabbing my hand.
"I'm moving to Arizona."
"Why? I thought Jack was coming here?"
"Ya me to. But my mom said it would be better because of her work and traveling."
"You can't go," he said.
"Well I have to."
I decided to text Jack.
Me: you should try and make mom say no to moving to Arizona
Jack: why??
Me: wdym why?
Jack: what's the big deal?
Me: we are literally leaving everything
Jack: maybe it's a good thing
Me: how?
Jack: starting new
My mom walked in.
"Jen is here," she said.
"Bye," Joey said getting up and leaving.
"Why? Why do we have to leave? You haven't had a problem with the distance with traveling since now," I say.
"It's not just that. Don't you wanna start new? Meet new people?"
"No I'm fine here," I say.
"We are moving to Arizona and that's the end of this," she said leaving.
